31 AUG – 2 SEP 2023 Tunis
INTERFERENCE SUMMER PROJECT Exhibition
Yassin Agrbi developed a 3-part kinetic installation. He staged a play of light and shadow by means of 3 cut glasses, which he filled with different waters. These were mounted on small platforms on which they rotated. The shadow play was created by colored LED combinations, which were also mounted on the platforms.

Yassin Agrbi is an artist and car electrician based in Tunis, Tunisia. In his practice, Yassin explores the interaction of UV light and its environment in order to re-connect visitor and site. As such, he understands light as a malleable and flexible material which has the power to create shapes and illusions that instinctively attract the viewer. Yassin combines material and technologies from his work and living environment with fluorescent colors.

Setting the sculptures in motion, sounds emerge which he then arranges to rhythms, sometimes mixed with beats and voice-overs.
His actual selection is always influenced by the production process. The site, its peculiarities as well as the exchange with the neighborhood are all shaping the final output. Thus, he composes objects, installations and intervention which transform the space into vibrant and layered environments which unexpectedly bear new associations ranging from nature experiences to shared memories.
