— Welcome to the INTERFERENCE Community, where we will jointly develop sustainable habits that lead us towards a regenerative lifestyle. At the heart of our collective efforts are the INTERFERENCE COMMONS, a series of ongoing challenges aiming at making positive changes for our environment. Each edition is dedicated to transforming a specific habit, and we are convinced that by doing it together, we can create a lasting impact.

LEAVING NO TRASH BEHIND

One of the first INTERFERENCE COMMONS challenges is centered around leaving no trash behind. Our community believes in caring for our neighborhoods and natural surroundings by taking responsibility for the waste we generate. By adopting responsible waste disposal practices, we ensure a clean and pristine environment for everyone to enjoy.

SAY NO TO PLASTIC STRAWS

Another pressing challenge we face is the issue of single-use plastic items, particularly plastic straws. Our oceans suffer from the excessive use of these items, leading to pollution and harm to marine life. By saying no to plastic straws, we can significantly reduce plastic waste and contribute to a cleaner, healthier ocean ecosystem. Together, we can shape a better future for our oceans and the creatures that call them home.

NO MORE PLASTIC BAGS

Plastic bags pose a major threat to both our land and water environments. These lightweight, non-renewable products contribute to climate change due to their petroleum-based materials. Their production also consumes a significant amount of energy, making their short lifespan of around 12 minutes unsustainable. By rejecting single-use plastic bags and advocating for eco-friendly alternatives, we actively combat climate change and prevent further pollution in our environment.

REDUCE PLASTIC USAGE

One of the biggest challenges we encounter is the pervasive nature of plastic in our environment. Plastic does not decompose, leading to an accumulation of plastic waste over time. With plastic production on the rise, we need to take action to reduce our plastic usage and break free from this cycle of waste. By making conscious choices and opting for more sustainable alternatives, we can mitigate the environmental impacts caused by plastic pollution.

NO CIGARETTE BUTTS

Cigarette butts may seem small, but their collective impact on the environment is significant. These littered items pose unique challenges to ecosystems, as their toxicity affects aquatic and terrestrial habitats alike. The harm they cause to biodiversity and ecosystem functioning underscores the urgency of addressing this issue. As part of the INTERFERENCE COMMONS challenge, we agree to collect cigarette butts instead of throwing them whererver we go.

THE WATER CHALLENGE

By collectively taking action to reduce water waste, promote conservation, and support sustainability projects, we can safeguard the invaluable resource and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient world. Let’s join forces and let us develop ideas what we can to do to make a difference and inspire others to do the same.

REDUCE — REUSE — RECYCLE

As INTERFERENCE Community we are committed to collective action for a sustainable future. Through the INTERFERENCE COMMONS challenges, we strive to transform our habits towards more environmentally friendly practices. By addressing issues such as plastic pollution, single-use items, and irresponsible waste disposal, we take steps to safeguard our planet for generations to come. Together, we can create a lasting positive impact and foster a world where sustainability and regenerative practices are the norm. Join us in this journey of collective change, and let’s build a better, healthier, and more sustainable world for all.
