In a world where natural resources are becoming more and more precious, the question of water management takes on particular urgency. Water, a vital and fundamental element, transcends its simple function as a resource to become a cultural, social, and collective link within communities. Beyond traditional governance schemes, an alternative perspective is emerging: that of water as a commons. This approach, based on collaboration and sharing, offers a new way of conceiving and managing this crucial resource.

Defining the local contexts, topics to be touched on are:
– Exploring water as a social and cultural fabric
– Checking into the cultural heritage of water in Tunisia
– Brief explanation of the concept of the commons and its application to water

Discovering water governance:
– Learning about collective approaches
– Assessing traditional methods of water management

Insights into present water scarcity
– Presentation of current water scarcity challenges in Tunisia
– Discussion of existing governance efforts and inter-community collaborations to address these challenges.
– Examples of multi-stakeholder water conservation projects
