“Macadame” is a video installation that is part of a two-dimensional reflection. It first addresses the notion of economic decline, by concretely exploring alternatives to electronic sensors within an interactive installation. In the second layer, there is the video featuring hands performing gestures such as cleaning, washing and sorting pebbles collected on a beach. The artist wanted to metaphorize the cycles and torments of anxiety. Thoses videos invite viewers to contemplate the recurring patterns in which worry can get stuck, and feed itself into, often infinite and unsuspected loops. (Artist’s Info)

Rima Khraief is a self-taught visual artist based in Tunis. Her primary medium is video, which she uses to create predominantly interactive video installations. She is also involved in video design for music, theater, and dance. Her work often revolves around exploring the narrative potential of materials, which she frequently combines with digital imagery or video.

Her pieces navigate the boundary between digital and analog, aiming to establish a channel of communication between the two realms.
